SM-2P

from

JSC R.E. Alexeiev Central Hydrofoil Design Bureau

Originally the SM-2 was a tandem craft like the SM-1, but it was damaged in a hangar fire and was rebuilt with a rectangular wing and a high T-tail. It was redesignated SM-2P (Priyamaugolnik = rectangular). The SM-2P was a three seater with two RU-19-300 turbojets and was built and tested in 1962. It was the first Russian WIG to use PAR or air injection.

Note that the span of the horizontal tail (6.7 m) was larger than that of the wing.

568A nice movie with Rostislav Evguenievich Alekseev at the beginning and then the SM2-P, ie the SM 2 in its rectangular wing configuration.
